Return Window
All return and exchange requests must be raised within 15 days from the date of delivery. After 15 days, we are unable to process return or exchange requests.
Selling Region
We sell and deliver exclusively within India. Returns are only accepted from customers with delivery addresses within India.
What We Accept Returns For
We accept returns for both defective and non-defective products:
Defective / Problem Returns
- Book arrived physically damaged (torn pages, broken spine, water damage)
- Wrong book delivered (different title, author, or edition)
- Book missing from the package
- Defective printing (blank pages, missing pages, printing errors)
Non-Defective Returns
- Changed your mind about the purchase
- No longer need the book
- Ordered by mistake
- Any other reason — no questions asked
Return Condition Requirement
The book must be returned in the same condition as when we sent it to you — brand new, unread, with no marks, highlights, annotations, or damage caused by the customer. The original packaging must be intact.
Books that have been read, annotated, highlighted, or damaged by the customer will not be accepted for return.
Exchange Policy
We offer product exchange within the 15-day return window. To be eligible for exchange:
- The returned book must be in the same new, original condition as sent by us
- Exchange can be for any book available on our website
- If the new book costs more, you pay the difference; if less, we refund the balance
- Exchanged books are dispatched after we receive and inspect the returned item
Restocking Fee
No restocking fee. Returns are completely free — we do not charge any fee for returning a product.
How to Initiate a Return or Exchange
- Email support@bookshops.in or WhatsApp +91 81899 68108 with your order number
- Mention whether you want a return (refund) or an exchange
- Attach a photo of the book and packaging
- Our team will respond within 24 hours and send you a return shipping label to download and print
- Pack the book securely, attach the label, and hand it over to the courier
Return Method
Returns are processed by mail. Once your return request is approved, we will email you a prepaid return shipping label. Print the label, attach it to your parcel, and drop it off at the nearest courier pickup point or schedule a home pickup.
Refund Process
Once we receive and inspect the returned book, we will issue a full refund within 3 business days to your original payment method. COD orders are refunded via NEFT/UPI to your provided bank details.
